Job Description Eaton Corporation located in Auburn, IN has an immediate opening for a Lead Engineer supporting the Clutch Plant Operations.
The primary functions of this position include:
• Monitor, maintain and improve processes, layouts, and part prints
• Responsible for driving Lean Manufacturing deployment in the plant.
• Obtain print deviations from divisional Product Engineering and coordinate deviations at plant level
• Support the achievement of manufacturing budget goals
• Maintain communication with divisional departments
• Coordinate new product release activities utilizing the PROLaunch process
• Identify measurable cost reductions through manufacturing data analysis and technology applications
• Develop and implement programs/projects that support the business plan of plant management
• Participate in capital planning, investigate equipment alternatives, prepare capital appropriation justifications, execute capital projects, and evaluate results
• Responsible for the implementation and deployment of actions to ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO/TS 16949, OSHA regulations, MESH and all Federal, State, and Local laws as they apply to their areas of responsibility
• Prioritize responsibilities to accommodate a changing business environment
• Mentor/coach other Manufacturing Engineers
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience. This needs to include a minimum of 1 year in a manufacturing environment and 1 year of Lean Manufacturing experience.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Position Criteria:
• Working knowledge and experience in manufacturing, i.e. knowledge and operation of machine tools, assembly, blue print reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), work measurement, and working within a structured team environment.
